Shaving your legs – the bane of life for the majority of women. Unless you have been blessed enough to not be particularly hairy, then having to shave constantly can be a bit of a nightmare. This is one of the main reasons many women turn to waxing, although this isn’t suitable for everyone.
Now before I start, let me clarify – there’s absolutely nothing wrong with letting your leg hair grow. Nothing. No matter what media or your friends may tell you, you shouldn’t have to worry about shaving your legs and keeping them baby smooth 24/7. It’s 2018! So, it’s understood that you don’t necessarily have to shave your legs constantly. Though, the majority of women want to keep their legs clean shaven.
It seems that the general average that a woman really shaves their legs is around once every 1-2 weeks. Of course, there are those that will shave more often than this and there’s some who will shave less frequently (if not never!).
It really is down to personal preference, and deciding on a good shaving regime is a solid way to ensure that you’ll never get caught with long leg hair.
It’s actually very common for women to shave their legs too often, which can leave the hair permanently bristly. If you want to shave your legs daily, then be my guest, but you’re going to eventually get annoyed having to keep them maintained permanently.
What you need to keep your leg hair neat and tidy
Keeping your leg hair short and neat is pretty easy. You just need to make sure you’re using the right equipment. You undoubtedly need;
- A good quality shaving cream – Cheap shaving creams aren’t allowed! Try to find a shaving cream that is paraben free and doesn’t have any fragrance in it. This is better for people with sensitive skin, as you won’t need to worry about irritation.
- A good quality razor for shaving– Getting a good razor is one of the best investments that you’ll make if you’re trying to keep your legs trim. There are tons of different razors available on the market, so it’s definitely worth your time to shop around.
- Aftercare – It can pay to get some aftercare shaving equipment to help. If you experience razor burn often, then this is definitely something that you’ll want to invest in.
Overall, shaving your legs every couple of weeks is a good idea to help minimize the amount of time that you’re spending shaving. The razor that you need for shaving your legs is not the same as what you’d use elsewhere. For example, the best razor for shaving your head is not the same as the optimal razor for your legs. You don’t want to spend every waking hour worrying whether you should shave your legs or not.
